Matt Smith (Email. Matt)
Hi, my name is Matt Smith. I am the youth minister here at Geoges Creek. I joined the staff here on August 19, 2012. My main ministry is to serve the 6th to 12th grade students here at the church and in the community. But, I also have a passion for people and love to work with all age groups here at GCBC. I graduated Easley High School in 2005 and went on to USC Upstate where I (somehow) graduated with a degree in Secondary Education in 2009. I am currently a Social Studies teacher and golf/tennis coach at PHS. I also coached the Varsity baseball team for 3 years.
I'll never forget when I got the call to interview for the position here at GCBC. I felt humbled, honored, and overwhelmed all at the same time! I had recently gone through some struggles in my life and after one door of my life had closed, he almost immediately opened another here at Georges Creek.
As a Youth minister, teacher, and coach, I have a passion for young people! I want to see all of them succeed in life but also want to make sure all of them understand Gods love for them and the importance of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
I am married to a wonderful wife, Jamie, who somehow manages to put up with me (thanks babe, love you!) I also have a 2 year old son, Gray, who is, quite literally, the coolest toddler in the world.

Child Development Center, Director
Teddi Caldwell (Email Teddi)
Since 2007 I have been a member of Georges Creek Baptist Church and director of the Georges Creek Child Development Center. I was raised by God-loving parents that set an example of faithfully serving the Lord, resulting in me giving my own life to Jesus at the young age of five. God has truly worked in my life and allowed me to grow much in my faith over the years. He gave me a passion for singing, and since the age of two I have been singing in churches. In fact, much of my youth was spent traveling with my family serving the Lord with song and praise.
In 1993 I married the love of my life, Lowell Caldwell, and we have two wonderful boys ages 21 and 17. During my “me time,” I enjoy reading and cooking, discovering new ways to cook our favorite dishes, or new recipes, new spices, and new flavors.
I think I have the best job in the world. God has blessed me by giving me the opportunity to share and show the love of Christ with so many children. I get to see Jesus grow in these young lives every day, and I am truly excited about what the future holds for each of these children and for our Georges Creek CDC.
