About Us

Our Church Covenant

Having been led, as we believe by the Spirit of God, to embrace the Lord Jesus Christ as our Sovereign and Savior, and having been baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as evidence of our surrender to the divine will, we do now, in the presence of God, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body of Christ.

We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this church in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spiritual health; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines in accordance with the Scriptures; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministries and expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel to all nations

We also engage to maintain personal and family devotions; to educate our children in our most holy Faith; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to give careful consideration to how we conduct our lives in this present world; to be just in our dealings, to be faithful in our commitments, and to set an example of Christian decorum in all situations; to avoid tattling, backbiting, and sinful anger; to live in the victory secured by God’s grace and the power of the Holy Spirit by showing temperance and self-control in all things; to be zealous in our efforts to seize every opportunity to advance the kingdom of our Lord.

We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember one another in prayer; to aid one another in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian love and courtesy in all of our dealings with one another; to be slow to take offense but always ready for reconciliation and mindful of the admonition of our Savior to secure it without delay.

Finally, we engage to submit ourselves to the principles of this covenant and agree to be bound by it in all matters where biblical church discipline may be warranted, and should we remove from this body, we will, as soon as possible, unite with another church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.
